Get Pretty with Strawberries!

Strawberries, yet another natural good food for the skin, contain a natural fruit acid known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) which aids in exfoliation. The fruit's tiny seeds act as a gentle, natural exfoliant. The salicylic acid found in strawberries also helps get rid of dead skin cells and heal acne. Try mixing mashed strawberries with yogurt (which contains lactic acid to help soothe and smooth your skin) and spread evenly over your dry face with your dry hands and leave on for about 10 minutes. Then rinse your face clean with water, and pat dry with a towel. Your skin is instantly left dewy, radiant and unbelievably soft.

Strawberries also have whitening properties, and can be a good home remedy for natural teeth whitening - not just by eating them, but by rubbing slices of strawberries across your teeth on a daily basis. For the skin, try making strawberry facial mask by mashing strawberries into pulp and mixing in honey for additional moisturizing effect. Strawberries alone make a good oily skin mask.

Strawberries are also rich in skin-pampering antioxidants such as vitamin C which helps promote anti-aging by protecting your skin from harmful free radicals (through neutralizing them before damage is done to the healthy cells), and reducing wrinkles and blemishes. Strawberries help rejuvenate the skin and tighten enlarged pores and make your face look brighter and smoother.

Strawberries also help reinforce your skin's resisting capability to environmental stress; provide excellent allergy soothing, appeasing, preventing and relieving functions; and strengthen skin immune capability.

Strawberries are good in so many ways, so let's head down to the supermart now and stock up on them for our daily beauty regime!
