Choose the Right Makeup Base Colour

Is your skin looking dull and dry? A good makeup base is the perfect "pick-me-up" that gives your tired-looking skin an instant radiance boost. It gives your skin an even tone while covering up blemishes, spots and dark circles. It can also provide protection from environmental elements like the sun, wind and pollution.

Choosing the right colour is important when applying makeup base because it corrects your skin's undertone. For skin with sallow tone (common among Asians), use a light purple base to tone down the yellowness and turn up the warm pink, while covering acne marks and rosacea at the same time. Green disguises redness and brightens skin tone, while pink disguises dullness for a more radiant finish. Orange base is best for correcting severe dark tone, particularly dark undereye circles. You may mix and match different colours to achieve the best results. Just be sure to match them to your skin tone.
